Ongoing Scam Calls Pretending to be TruStage
Our insurance partner, TruStage (provider of Liberty Mutual Insurance policies to our membership), is continuing to report active scam attempts targeting members during their current system disruption.
What is happening: Members are receiving phone calls from scammers claiming to represent TruStage, stating their policy payments are past due and demanding immediate payment over the phone. In some cases, these calls are targeting members whose insurance payments are already set up on automatic payments.
What you need to know:
-
TruStage is NOT calling members to collect payments. TruStage customer service has confirmed that they are not making outbound calls to request payments.
-
Scammers may use local phone numbers. Callers are spoofing numbers—including local Oklahoma area codes (405) —to make the calls appear authentic.
How to protect yourself:
-
DO NOT provide credit card numbers, banking details, or personal information over the phone to unsolicited callers claiming your payment failed or is past due.
-
DO NOT click on payment links received via text or email.
-
DO NOT rely on caller ID alone, as scammers routinely spoof local numbers.
Your account security is our priority. If you receive a call, text, or email demanding payment for your TruStage or Liberty Mutual policy, hang up and do not engage.
