Green Country Federal Credit Union Named Sand Springs Chamber Large Business of the Year

Sand Springs, OK – Green Country Federal Credit Union (Green Country FCU) is honored to be named the Large Business of the Year at the Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on February 20, 2025. This prestigious award recognizes Green Country FCU’s unwavering commitment to the community, economic impact, and dedication to financial empowerment for Sand Springs and Northeast Oklahoma.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this award and be recognized for the work we do daily to serve Sand Springs and beyond,” said Brandon Grell, Green Country FCU CEO. “This honor reflects the dedication of our entire team and our passion for making a difference.”

A Legacy of Community Involvement

More than just a financial institution, Green Country FCU is a pillar of the community. Over the past year, the credit union’s 30 dedicated employees have volunteered nearly 300 hours supporting key local organizations. We also played a pivotal role in sponsoring and supporting events that enrich the lives of residents, including the July 3rd Star Spangled Salute assisting the Salvation Army, hosting fraud seminars for the community, and collecting over 2,400 pounds of pet supplies to support the local shelter.

Driving Economic Growth and Financial Stability

Green Country FCU is committed to fueling economic growth and financial stability in Sand Springs and the surrounding areas. In 2024 alone, the credit union loaned over $7 million to local residents and businesses, ensuring access to vital financial resources that help the community thrive. Nearly half of our deposits come from Sand Springs residents, reinforcing our dedication to keeping local money in the community. Additionally, through our partnership with the CDFI fund, Green Country FCU provided more than $840,000 in grants to assist low- and moderate-income individuals with financial security. These grants have supported 62 families to achieve homeownership, assisted 43 aspiring professionals, primarily Tulsa Tech Sand Springs students, with trade school funding, and helped 68 members rebuild credit through the Share-Secured Credit Builder Grant.

“At Green Country, we believe that when a community thrives, we all thrive,” said Grell. This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to serving Sand Springs and ensuring that every resident has access to financial opportunities that help them succeed.” “We are committed to fostering financial wellness and ensuring that Sand Springs continues to thrive.”

A Bright Future Ahead

Green Country FCU remains steadfast in our mission to support Sand Springs and Northeast Oklahoma. Whether through financial services, community partnerships, or charitable giving, the credit union continues to make a lasting impact.

“While this award is an incredible honor, it’s also a reminder that our work is never done,” said Ed Alexander, Green Country’s Chairman of the Board of the Directors. “We remain committed to expanding our impact, strengthening our community, and finding new ways to support the people of Sand Springs and beyond.”

“The Board and I are extremely proud of our employees – this is a great honor.”
